Pescaderia Liz

Although not in Versalles, Pescaderia Liz is where I go for all our seafood. The 15 minute walk to get there is absolutely worth it.

This family-owned business is always very clean, and their produce is always fresh. Fish varieties vary depending on local fishermen’s catches. They carry shrimp, octopus, tuna, smoked marlin (a specialty from Mazatlan, absolutely wonderful!), red snapper and more.

They also offer their store-made delicious ceviche on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. And if you have questions, Oscar (left), Braian (right) and Mari are always there to help.

Carniceria La Cuata

Distribuidora de Carnes La Cuata, as it appears on map applications, is primarily a wholesale business serving commercial clients, but it also features a retail counter for the local community.

They offer a full selection of fresh beef, pork, and chicken, with ground beef prepared to order right in front of you.

It’s our go-to place for all our meats, and Raquel and Polo are consistently friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

Tortillería La Auténtica de Maíz

If you’re looking for freshly made corn tortillas, Tortillería La Authéntica de Maíz is the place to go. Their tortillas are made daily right there in front of you, giving them an authentic taste that’s hard to beat.

While they also offer wheat tortillas, corn tortillas really shine in Mexican cooking. If you’re used to wheat ones, try switching it up next time you make tacos at home—trust us, it makes a difference. You can enjoy these tortillas hot, cold, or even pan-fried, which is a delicious twist that adds a crispy, golden texture. Once you try them, you might never go back to store-bought ones again!
